Working in a matrixed organization, this role is reporting directly to the cluster CFO of SE and is an integral partner to the Country Managers and their business teams supporting the growth of Visa’s business in the markets.
The FBP, under the guidance of the cluster CFO, is responsible for maintaining a high standard of financial discipline, business decision support, and accountability within the geography. The role will require understanding of all financial aspects of the business from Financial Planning, Commercial Finance to Controllership, and Revenue Audit. The role is also expected to constantly enhance and refine processes and procedures, as well as challenge business owners to continuously drive efficiency, cost savings and best value for money investments.
Integral to the position is the ability to build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with the Business Cluster Teams and the relevant European Finance teams. This hands-on role requires exceptional commercial and financial acumen with the desire and ability to challenge the status quo to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and performance of the country. We expect you to be able to have a proactive and curious mindset and dive into details as required but also be able to see the bigger picture and communicate key messages in a concise manner to Senior Executives.
Commercial Finance Partnering
Oversee and suggest the optimal resources allocations (people and funds) to deliver on financial targets while balancing short term results with long term strategies
Review monthly the driver trends impacting the market and individual client performance and share insights back to AEs and Country Managers
Based on latest driver trends, ensure that client incentive accruals and projections are updated monthly to reflect the latest performance and highlight any materials risks / opps to Cluster Head of Finance and Central FP&A
Commercially challenge opex investment asks to ensure optimal use of resources. Ensure that approved investments occur in line with latest forecast timing and highlight any variation asap to Cluster Head of Finance and Central FP&A
Provide insights on market performance e.g. yield analysis, market share
Drive uptake of Value Added Services (VAS) through informed analytics of client performance
Review all IIAB business cases and work with sales teams to successfully deploy this toll in GCMI
Finance Planning & Analysis
Ensure that the AEs and Country Managers are regularly updated on financial performance
Contribute to all planning activities for SE, Revenue drivers analysis and forecasting
Provide insight into key variances and business trends and identify risk and opportunities (plus mitigating actions) to ensure delivery on targets
Lead the business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for Revenues, Client Incentives and Operating Expenses. Coordinate inputs from the various functions for both revenues and costs, plus lead the review and challenge processes
Internal Control & Support:
With the leadership of Europe Controllership team, safeguard the accuracy in financial accounting and reporting, while ensuring SOX compliance
Assert financial controls to mitigate corporate risk and drive financial stewardship
Oversee smooth flow of business operations and transactions as per Visa processes and procedures
Support the central tax and controllership team when needed, and supporting local statutory regulation as required.
Supporting local procurement/facilities teams to ensure alignment and control of global processes
Essential Criteria:
In-depth knowledge of the payments industry (preferable)
Highly strategic, strong business acumen

Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to successfully promote collaboration across different teams and interface with people at all levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly communicate insights from financials to drive business decisions
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills; outstanding financial modelling skills with deep understanding of financial applications and databases
Broad experience in Finance and Strategy/Planning, including good understanding of accounting concepts

Basic Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
