Employment type: Full-time

Why This Role Matters

At Papa, Pals are at the center of everything we do, providing companionship and care to our millions of members and families who are in need of vital social support. We’re looking for a compassionate and thoughtful Senior Product Designer who can design delightful and easy-to-use experiences across all of our product touch-points. This role focuses on hands-on execution, working closely with research to connect insights to opportunities, and applying strategic and critical thinking to develop and execute plans in pursuit of product goals. As a member of the Design team, you’ll help to grow the design team and evolve our practice.

How You'll Contribute

A generalist: You can jump into all types of problem solving from interaction design, product strategy, to visual details.

Systems thinker: You regularly zoom out  to understand how your design decisions affect the entire product ecosystem and business. You think in terms of design systems and not individual screens or components.

Comprehensive: You think about all use cases and edge cases.

Inquisitive: Your first instinct is to ask questions and understand the why.

Empathetic: You seek to understand others perspectives, whether it’s our users or our teammates.

Culture-keeper: You believe that a strong team is fueled by a positive culture of respect, transparency, and trust.

Detail oriented: You champion design quality and product-wide visual consistency.

You are driven by group outcome, not individual outcome.

What you'll do:

Partner with cross-functional teams and drive the design process.

Articulate, negotiate and refine design requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers to arrive at the best design solutions.

Design and prototype multiple ideas and iterations quickly, and connect regularly with customers to evaluate product directions.

Conduct research to identify and solve user, product, and business problems.

Participate in weekly design collaboration sessions to help your team to think more critically, strategically, and make constant improvements to the design.

Deliver high-quality, polished, delightful, and easy to use designs.

Commitment to supporting a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
